Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hardworking Janitor to support the day‑to‑day upkeep of a busy site in Chilton, Ferryhill. Reporting to site management, this role plays an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑presented environment for employees and visitors.

• Daily cleaning of common areas including offices, restrooms, corridors, and break rooms
• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
• Dusting and wiping down surfaces such as windowsills, desks, and countertops
• Emptying general waste and recycling bins, ensuring correct disposal practices
• Basic grounds maintenance, including outdoor bins and recycling areas
• Carrying out minor repairs and simple handyman tasks within capability (e.g. changing light bulbs, fixing small leaks, minor paint touch‑ups)
• Assisting with deep cleaning tasks when required (e.g. carpet cleaning, floor waxing, window washing)
• Preparing rooms for meetings and supporting cleaning before or after site events
• Supporting basic building maintenance internally and externally
• Following all site health, safety, and environmental procedures
• Reporting any damage, defects, or safety hazards identified

• Dependable, practical, and detail‑focused approach
• Basic understanding of cleaning products and equipment (preferred but not essential)
• Basic understanding of minor repair or handyman tasks, or willingness to learn
• Physically able to carry out cleaning duties, including lifting, bending, and standing
• Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
• Positive attitude toward maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

• 16‑20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• 4‑hour shifts (flexible schedule by agreement)
• £12.21 per hour
• Weekly pay
• 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays per year (Jan‑Dec holiday year)
