Warehouse Operative - Picker​/Packer

The Best Connection (Darlington) are currently recruiting for
Pickers and Packers who will be working within the pharmaceutical warehouse team to accurately process orders using handheld digital devices. This role involves receiving digital pick lists, scanning products, verifying information such as batch numbers and expiry dates, and preparing items for dispatch while maintaining full compliance with pharmaceutical standards.

The role:

. Picker Responsibilities:

• Receive digital pick lists through a handheld device (scanner or PDA).
• Scan barcodes on products to confirm correct items and quantities.
• Verify batch numbers, expiry dates, and lot tracking information.
• Place picked items into totes or bins for the packing area.
• Maintain accuracy and comply with all Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and warehouse safety standards.

2. Packer Responsibilities:

• Prepare and package picked items for shipment or dispatch.
• Verify items and quantities against the order list.
• Re-scan items using the handheld device to confirm accuracy.
• Check packaging integrity and ensure compliance with temperature or cold-chain requirements.
• Print and affix shipping or prescription labels correctly.
• Record all packing activity in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Ensure all goods are packed securely and meet quality standards before dispatch.

The candidate:

• Previous experience in a warehouse or pharmaceutical environment preferred.
• Confidence in using handheld scanners or PDAs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Understanding of basic inventory processes.
• Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Can do attitude and confident to work alone at times and take on instructions

Hours of work & Pay :

Day shift only: 11:30am - 20:00pm

Monday to Friday

£12:71ph, 40 hour working hours
