Administrative Assistant/Clery Compliance Officer
Location: Cheney Campus, Spokane County
Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a skilled and team-oriented applicant to serve as an Executive Administrative Assistant and Clery Compliance Officer. The role provides high‑level, confidential administrative support and schedule management for command staff, prioritizing emails, phone calls, and sensitive matters. It also manages travel arrangements, expense reports, confidential correspondence, and monitoring of the department budget and office operations.
The Clery Compliance responsibility includes ensuring the university’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and associated regulations, collecting crime statistics, preparing and publishing the Annual Security Report, and administering the federal Campus Safety Survey.
Responsibilities- Provide executive administrative support and schedule management for command staff.
- Prioritize and respond to emails, phone calls, and sensitive matters.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and expense reports.
- Compose confidential correspondence and manage office procurement.
- Project and monitor department budget; maintain ledger tracking and reporting.
- Manage public records retention and destruction of police records.
- Ensure compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and related regulations.
- Collect crime statistics and ensure the Annual Security Report is prepared, published, and distributed.
- Administer the federal Campus Safety Survey.
- Collaborate with internal and external offices to meet compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or a related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and databases.
- Responsible for tracking the department’s Ledger 1, 2, and 5 expenditures.
- Tracks expenses and runs reports to ensure compliance with state guidelines and budgetary processes.
- Coordinates and tracks grant expenditures related to department‑awarded grants.
- Assists in developing, projecting, and monitoring department budget.
- Identifies problems and makes recommendations or initiates corrective action related to budget.
- Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that supports the needs of students, faculty, staff, and the public, including universal access.
- Previous experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act.
- Advanced Clery Act Training.
- Familiarity with Title IX.
- Three or more years of work experience with an institution of higher education.
Salary Range: $68,227 (minimum) – $84,720 (maximum) dependent on education, experience, and skills.
