Join the YMCA of the Inland Northwest as a Tumbling Instructor, a full‑time role supporting youth development through dynamic, safe tumbling programs.
Pay$19.10/hr – base pay; actual compensation reflects skills and experience.

Position SummaryThe Tumbling Instructor leads direct instruction, motivation, and curriculum delivery for children in our tumbling programs, modeling strong leadership and communication.
Essential Functions- Plan, develop, and administer tumbling curriculum, maintaining safe and effective routines for all children.
- Maintain attendance records and motivate participants to perform their best.
- Apply proper spotting techniques, ensuring children only attempt skills they are prepared for.
- Observe and evaluate participant skill, provide meaningful feedback on performance and progress.
- Know, review, and apply all safety, emergency, and child‑abuse prevention policies and procedures, responding to emergencies per YMCA protocol.
- Set up and tear down equipment daily, checking safety and reporting deficiencies.
- Communicate with families about participation, behaviors, and related topics, connecting families to the YMCA.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong gymnastics background with knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and injury prevention.
- At least six months of related work experience.
- Experience leading a youth group, creating new exercise routines and modifications for this population.
- Ability to respond professionally and swiftly in injuries and emergencies.
- Complete required YMCA trainings upon hire.
- Develop positive, authentic relationships with diverse people.
- Regular bending, kneeling, leaning, and standing for extended periods.
- Frequent handwashing and sanitizing of equipment to reduce disease transmission.
- Maintain alertness for several hours at a time.
- Communicate with participants using oral comprehension, expression, and active listening.
- Lift or assist children up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and carry supplies up to 20 pounds.
- Physically respond to emergencies swiftly.
