The Kinesiology and Sport Management Department in the School of Education at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, is seeking an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor to teach a 1-credit undergraduate course that certifies students in Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid and AED use.

Essential Functions- Teach Red Cross–approved CPR, AED, and First Aid curriculum in accordance with American Red Cross Instructor standards and Gonzaga University academic expectations.
- Evaluate student performance through skills assessments and written evaluations following Red Cross certification protocols.
- Administer and process American Red Cross certification materials through the Red Cross Learning Center.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback and submit grades in alignment with Gonzaga’s academic policies.
- Current American Red Cross Instructor Certification
- Available for the specific weekends in the Spring semester to teach the course;
Section 1 is Saturday and Sunday, February 28-March 1, 2026 and Section 2 is March 28-29, 2026. The course is 8:30 am - 4:30 pm on Saturdays and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Prior teaching or training experience, ideally in a higher-education environment
- Experience in Canvas
- Additional Red Cross instructor credentials (e.g., CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, Basic Life Support)
Bachelor's Degree
Physical & On-Campus RequirementsIn-Office Presence - Ability to work on-site in typical office setting and participate in in-person meetings with colleagues: 2 days/week
