Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

- Develop and maintain the environmental, health, and safety program, including EHS inspections, accident investigations, and related tasks.
- Provide safety training and enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage / support EHS Insight reporting and data analysis; provide IT support for EHS Insight; update SDS; conduct minor injury investigations; support senior specialists during major investigations.
- Facilitate event corrective actions and track to completion.
- Set up new employees and remove those who have left the company.
- Develop and revise safety training materials; conduct safety inspections and walk‑abouts.
- Maintain ERE & fire extinguishers; manage first aid kit inventory; conduct chemical inventory and compliance inspections; develop/revise written EHS programs.
- Perform risk assessments; investigate safety events; support and train on compliance with written EHS programs.
- Manage waste: move and label drums/containers for shipment; solvent storage container management; conduct DOT and HAZWOPER training; maintain environmental compliance; calibrate wastewater pH probes; produce DMR reports; conduct semi‑annual SW inspections; manage generator hours for air permits; support pollution prevention, waste minimization, sustainability, SPCC management, EPCRA reporting; oversee asbestos abatement; conduct noise assessments; assist with blood borne pathogens / pandemic support;
facilitate first aid / CPR training; monitor wildfire smoke compliance.
Weekday Days, Monday‑Friday
Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or related scientific field.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist or Associate Safety Professional (desired).
- Minimum 1 year of related experience (pharmaceutical experience desired).
- Advanced vocational/specialized knowledge.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Exposure to allergens and experience working in aseptic areas.
- Capability to perform pushing, pulling, twisting, and prolonged sitting and standing.
- Hiring wage: $35.65–$48.23/hr depending on experience, with opportunities for growth and annual raises.
