Bridge Task Leader / Senior Bridge Engineer position in Spokane, Washington.
Location:
Spokane, Washington. Work Style:
Hybrid-friendly (not eligible for fully remote). Salary Range: $136,000-$176,000. The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
- Serve as a senior technical lead on bridge and structural projects for highway, rail, and transit applications.
- Manage the full project lifecycle—from preliminary studies and TS&L reports to detailed design, estimates, and construction support.
- Ensure deliverables meet or exceed industry standards for quality, accuracy, and constructability.
- Review and check structural calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure engineering excellence.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, building the next generation of bridge design talent.
- Lead or support condition inspections, load ratings, and structural evaluations of in-service bridges.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Build strong client relationships through technical leadership, responsiveness, and delivery excellence.
- Support business development through proposal preparation, technical writing, and pursuit strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 10+ years of progressive experience in bridge engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington or Idaho
- Expertise in bridge design software: SAP
2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PGSuper, Conspan, LPile, BRASS - Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated leadership, clear communication, and client-facing skills
- Physical ability and willingness to conduct field inspections
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Structural Engineer (SE) license in Washington or Idaho
- Experience with WSDOT and ITD bridge design standards
- Familiarity with bridge inspection practices and load rating methodologies
