The power generation market continues to grow and evolve given strong capacity demand signals that haven’t existed for over a decade. As a result, our national Power Generation team is poised for monumental growth. We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner’s Engineer.

- Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Monitor and communicate project status; provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both technical and contractual levels.
- Develop construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.
- Design and specify power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and EITs; work within an established schedule and budget; manage multiple concurrent assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in power generation design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or P.Eng
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector; proficient in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, Revit)
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design
- Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
- Experience with engineering power consulting or EPC firms
- Experience in fossil power industry with owner’s engineer projects
- Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to mentor others; capable of working within schedule and budget; travel less than 10% for client and vendor meetings and site visits

The compensation range for this position depends on skills, experience, education, and location. The targeted salary range is $108,661 - $204,250.
