Structural Engineer

Overview

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Structural Engineer (three to five years) for employment in our Spokane office. Our primary marketplace is Washington, Oregon, and Idaho with other potential opportunities across the United States. The successful candidate will be independent, self-motivated, energetic team player who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

At Coffman Engineers, we serve as both prime consultant and sub consultant on projects large and small, including commercial, retail, institutional, government, industrial, and project/construction management. Incorporated in 1979, we have employees in more than 23 locations serving clients across the United States and overseas. To meet client objectives and to integrate our many disciplines, we can create teams comprised of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and corrosion control, as well as project/construction managers and professionals in a variety of specialty services.

Qualifications

• A four-year degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited university.
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in the structural design of buildings or similar structures.
• Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, MathCAD, ETABS, Revit, etc.)
• Design experience with various materials – steel and concrete; masonry, wood and light gauge steel preferred.
• Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills
• Experience and ability to maintain working relationships with clients
• Experience as a project manager preferred.
• Experience working as part of a multi-discipline team preferred.

Salary

Expected annual salary of $78,000-$89,000.
