Job Summary

Data Modeler (Hybrid) – a one‑year renewable contract to support the Energy Management Systems organization for a Pacific Northwest utility provider. The role is based in Spokane, WA and involves maintaining and improving EMS databases and displays on the core Control Center Network.

• Implement changes to RTU, substation and ICCP data model in SCADAMOM, NETMOM, and OAGMOM databases according to timelines.
• Validate models, ensuring interdependence between SCADA and Network models for grid safety and reliability.
• Develop and maintain user‑interface displays—one‑line diagrams, IPS, RAS, and tabular displays—to dispatcher specifications.
• Support bi‑weekly deployment of updated EMS databases and displays to operational systems, coordinating with DCC and MCC dispatchers and assisting with unscheduled/emergency deployments.
• Maintain documentation for all EMS database and display maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with EMS teams, dispatchers, T&E, field and other stakeholders to develop standards for modeling and user displays to promote reliability and consistency.
• Mark documents and maintain filing system(s) in accordance with compliance requirements.

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Information Technology or a closely related discipline is preferred.
• 1 year of experience is required with an applicable Bachelor’s Degree.
• 3 years of experience is required with an applicable Associate’s Degree.
• 5 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree.
• Experience includes working with logical data models, not just physical/DBA experience.
• 1 year of experience directly supporting the development and maintenance of GE‑Alstom e‑terra Habitat hierarchical databases and displays, or
• 2 years of experience directly supporting database modeling in a science/engineering organization.
