Substation CAD Technician/Designer

Responsibilities- Develop electrical schematic and wiring drawings (single-line and three-line diagrams, relay and control schematics, communication diagrams, panel wiring diagrams)
- Develop plan drawings (site plans, substation electric plans, foundation plans, conduit plans, grounding plans, fence plans)
- Develop detailed drawings (grounding, conduits, conduit and cable tray layouts, panel elevations)
- Generate bill of materials and schedules (cable and conduit)
- Create drawings for electrical enclosures, equipment, instruments, and installation details
- Plan, detail, and schedule work and final delivery of drawings
- Organize and maintain project drawings according to applicable standards
- Perform site visits for sketches, red lines, and as-built data
- Coordinate design, review drawings, and create markups
- Associate of Science in CAD Drafting or Engineering preferred, or a Certificate in Drafting & Design
- 3+ years drafting and design experience in the electrical power industry or related field
- Strong understanding of drafting techniques and CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil3D, Micro Station)
- Knowledge of electronic drafting (Inventor, Substation Design Suite, PLS‑CADD) desirable
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Excellent communication and innovative problem‑solving skills

- Salary range: $62,400 – $104,000
The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws.
