About This RoleField Quality Engineers work on shallow and deep foundation construction projects, with an emphasis on design‑build delivery methods for electrical transmission and distribution projects. You will interface with a multi‑disciplinary team, validate the quality of constructed work, and ensure conformance with project quality management plans, engineering design documents, contracts, and state and local requirements.
CompensationHourly: $30.00 – $36.50 DOE.

- Review and interpret project documents to understand quality inspection and reporting requirements.
- Review geologic and geotechnical data in advance of fieldwork.
- Plan and collaborate with stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Construction) and receive direction from them.
- Perform technical tasks (measurements, calculations) and manage technical issues, recommending solutions or alternatives.
- Develop, maintain, and submit pre‑construction planning documentation, including construction work plans, schedules, quality management plans, and submittals.
- Receive, inspect, and track materials.
- Inspect work quality and materials.
- Maintain accurate quality and materials records.
- Sample, characterize, and log geotechnical materials using company procedures and accepted standards.
- Provide direction to construction personnel regarding minimum foundation installation requirements.
- Maintain daily construction field reports.
- Sample, prepare, and transport grout and concrete specimens.
- Operate and troubleshoot geophysical testing and downhole imaging equipment, interpreting results for adequacy.
- Complete administrative tasks as required.
- Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geological science, or construction management (prior related experience may be considered).
- 0–2 years of quality inspection or quality management experience, preferably in construction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical‑thinking and planning skills.
- Strong work ethic, teamwork, and dedication.
- Physical ability to balance, kneel, crouch, walk/hike on uneven and steep terrain, occasionally at high altitude.
- Ability to climb ladders and equipment and access platforms 4–6 feet above ground.
- Ability to reach remote work sites by helicopter.
- Valid United States driver’s license.
- Domestic travel required; international travel preferred.
USD $30.00 – $36.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
