The Court Evaluator participates in and/or coordinates involuntary commitment case preparation with other members of the evaluation team, officers of the Court, and treatment staff.  The Court Evaluator will testify as an expert witness in involuntary commitment hearings.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
*** Perform evaluations via records review, consultations, and in-person interviews for adult and adolescent involuntary patients at various inpatient facilities.
* Contact witnesses for collateral information.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary treatment teams regarding treatment and discharge planning in the context of the civil commitment process.
* Prepare court documents/petitions for purposes of involuntary treatment.
* Provide expert witness testimony in prospective civil commitment court cases.
* Consistently complete all required documentation related to assigned cases in a timely, accurate and thorough manner.
* Requires travel to see clients in the community and travel between work sites.
* Other duties as assigned.
*** QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

* REQUIRED:

*** Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health or Social Work related field.
* Clinical Licensure (or license eligible in Washington State within 6 months of employment).
* Must have an unrestricted and valid driver’s license, active car insurance and must be willing to use their personal vehicle in the course of work.
** PREFERRED:
*** Experience in court evaluation or the legal/court system.
* Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and statutes pertaining to involuntary treatment, client rights.
** KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
*** Knowledge of behavioral health symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment including substance abuse disorders.
* Ability to communicate and engage effectively with individuals of varied, backgrounds, trauma experiences, cultures, education level and socio-economical status.
** PHYSICAL, SENSORY & ENVIRONMENTAL:

* Work is generally performed in an office setting which may involve sitting and use of computers for four to eight hours per day.
* May be required to lift 10 - 20 pounds.
* Work may be performed out of office and travel may be needed to outside areas.
* Blood-borne Pathogen Category III - No exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
** PAY RANGE (
** Salary/Exempt):$80,038.80 -$97,510.24
** All pay is based on longevity at Frontier Behavioral Health, thus, the starting pay is $80,038.80 annually.**#IND1
