Position: Social Worker (M2VA)

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

Pay range: $66,901.00/yr – $/yr

Summary

The position is a case manager providing care management to severely ill and/or injured Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) service members and Veterans at the facility.

Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of required educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected, but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizen. Non‑citizens may be appointed when qualified U.S. citizens are not available per applicable regulations.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Education:

    Master’s degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Licensure:
    Licensed or certified by a state to practice social work at the master’s level.

  • VA Experience
  • DOD Experience
  • Case Management Experience
  • Multi‑disciplinary Team Experience
Duties
  • Provide case management and psychosocial interventions to OIF/OEF service members and Veterans.
  • Develop and implement individualized care management plans.
  • Assess need for mental health services and make appropriate referrals.
  • Advocate for Veterans and help them access community resources.
  • Assist with advance directives, guardian ships, and home‑care applications.
  • Travel as required to provide services.
  • Maintain documentation and comply with VA policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements

Light lifting (under 15 lbs), operating a motor vehicle, and use of a computer are required.
