Job Description Purpose of Job

Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing pharmaceutical care in the following ways:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Reviews prescriptions and prepares medications for dispensing.
  • Counsels patients on medication drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Reviews and authorizes prescriptions with delegated prescriptive authority under state approved Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements.
  • Aids in helping patients obtain insurance/patient assistance options.
  • Acts as a part of the care team providing consultation for specific disease states.
  • Maintains established procedures of quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and HIPAA.
  • Directs pharmacy technicians, assistants, and interns.
  • Accesses computer for data entry, pharmacy files, patient charts, and inventory.
  • Utilizes innovative technology with electronic health records and Parata.
  • Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Qualifications

Education/

Experience:

Rph or Pharm

D from accredited school of pharmacy. Current valid licensure in the state of Washington and/or Idaho required. Prior non-profit experience preferred.

Skills:

Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Computer skills required. BLS (CPR/AED) required. Commitment to supporting a safe and respectful environment is required.

Physical Demands

Pharmacists must be able to move around the facility between 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the day, while sitting at a workstation occurs under 1/3rd of the day. Using hands and reaching with arms occurs over 2/3rds of the day. Communicating is also required over 2/3rds of the day, while climbing, stooping or crawling is minimal. Lifting up to 10 lbs occurs occasionally, while 25-50 lbs occurs infrequently.
