Responsibilities
  • Assist providers in performing clinical functions such as ophthalmic procedures, room flow, status communication to patient and provider
  • Ensure the patient understands all instructions
  • Take and document patients' medical histories
  • Operate ophthalmic equipment
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic instruments or equipment
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Problem‑solving math skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite or G‑Suite
  • Effectively work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated multitasking and adaptability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with communication via phone, internet, and in‑person
  • Ability to maintain and follow HIPAA procedures and policies
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience as an ophthalmic assistant (experienced COA or COT preferred)
