American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring NBSTSA certification and 1+ years of experience, with first-time travelers welcome.
Requirements- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- NBSTSA certification required
- BLS certification required
- Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
- License required if applicable
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
- Neuro surgical skills are a hardstop requirement
- Experience with general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, neuro, urology, and ENT procedures
- Familiarity with case carts, crash carts, and universal protocol time out procedures
- Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds
- Day shift, 4x10 hour schedule from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
- May float to outpatient surgical center
- On-call required 1x per week with 1 weekend on-call per 6 week schedule
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Teaching hospital setting
- Perform surgical technologist duties across multiple specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, neuro, urology, and plastics
- Support aseptic technique, equipment documentation, laser safety, and specimen handling protocols
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-submittal RTO requests may not be granted
- Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
- Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
