Lydig Construction is seeking a collaborative, experienced, and highly organized Human Resources Manager to lead key HR functions and contribute to the company's overall people strategy. This role is both strategic and hands-on, overseeing core areas such as recruitment, employee engagement, benefits, compliance, and training. The HR Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, support cultural initiatives, and ensure our HR practices remain competitive and effective.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the HR Team, CFO, Presidents, and VPs to align HR goals with company strategy.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on organizational planning, policy development, and people initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends and make recommendations on compensation, benefits, and HR best practices.
  • Champion company culture and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Mentor and support HR team members as needed.
  • Use HR analytics to improve decision-making and strategy execution.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on workforce trends.

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for both full-time roles and internship programs.
  • Oversee college recruiting, Skill Bridge internship opportunities, and onboarding for all new hires.
  • Support talent planning and career development programs in alignment with company goals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve recruiting tools, templates, and practices.
  • Manage LMS and oversee internal training efforts (Lydig University and operational programs).
  • Serve as an HR resource to department leaders and provide coaching to improve leadership effectiveness.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee recognition programs, retention surveys, and cultural initiatives.
  • Support and evaluate recognition platforms and retention strategies.
  • Support employee satisfaction and Lydig culture through employee programs and initiatives.
  • Promote employee wellness through goal setting, EAP awareness, and support for fitness and mental health initiatives; integrate insights from industry forums to continuously enhance internal programs.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of employee events, including summer parties, PTL weekend, client gatherings, and winter celebrations.
  • Support event logistics, communication, and execution in collaboration with the event planning team.

Benefits Strategy & Administration

  • Oversee benefit enrollment, open enrollment, and benefit plan administration.
  • Evaluate and recommend benefit program enhancements for retention and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor eligibility and support ACA, EEO, VEVRAA, and OFCCP compliance.
  • Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate records and reporting.
  • Set wellness goals and promote the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Support fitness and wellness initiatives and bring back ideas from industry mental health forums to enhance internal programs.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee day-to-day HR administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance across systems and processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are current and effective.
  • Lead employee relations efforts, internal audits, investigations, and policy updates.

Qualifications:

  • 5
    -7 + plus years of progressive HR experience, ideally in construction or a related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field; SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, benefits, compliance, and HR systems.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
