Senior Maintenance Technician

Overview

Senior Maintenance Technician at JELD-WEN is responsible for troubleshooting the company's equipment and making repairs in a timely manner to ensure minimal production downtime. This includes repairing equipment parts, performing equipment retrofits and modifications.

• Install, replace and/or change machine parts as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per the Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule.
• Keep accurate and detailed records and PM schedules.
• Quickly troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize machine downtime.
• Perform tolerance checks and make adjustments to ensure machine conformance to part quality requirements.
• Observe mechanical operation of all equipment to determine machine conformance.
• Responsible for purchasing parts and parts management.

• Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.
• Must be fluent in safety procedures related to maintenance and repair of production machinery and ensure equipment guarding compliance.
• Must have knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of LOTO requirements to meet state and federal standards.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinder operation and the ability to rebuild them is required.
• Experience with VFDs and PLCs. Familiarity with basic programming languages such as Python or C++, Ladder Logic.
• Understanding and knowledge of low voltage DC circuits, 110 through 480 Volt AC single and three phase.
• Ability to operate production-related machinery including electric scissor lift, electric pallet jack, forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Well organized with the ability to self-manage to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed.
• Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• MIG welding experience is a plus. Proficiency in using measurement and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, dial indicators, micrometers).

• Lifting in excess of 65 pounds
• 75% Standing/Walking, 25% Stationary
• Exposure to weather

• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
  Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a millwright or maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Expected pay for this role is between $30.13 and $45.21 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
