The Manufacturing Specialist will schedule, coordinate, and direct daily production activities within all areas of the SLM Filling and Filtration department. Will ensure resources are available to the technicians. In addition, will perform technician training, review documentation, and assist in representing the department in outside support department/customer concerns.

• Daily coordination of SLM Filling & Filtration technicians - schedules and assigns workload to assure maximum efficiency.
• Provides leadership in the department, both as a team leader, and as a spokesperson for outside department concerns.
• Responsible for training new technicians including cGMP compliance, safety, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Provides manufacturing expertise - possesses a detailed knowledge of equipment and processes in multiple production areas.
• Participates in special projects, coordinates technician assignments in multiple areas of the department.
• Oversees area production documents, and performs record reviews.
• Assesses production activities, and provides recommendations for process improvement, corrective actions, and training needs.
• Optimize and define processes to maximize yield and reduce waste.
• Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to process problems in Manufacturing.
• Position requires the ability to maintain aseptic qualification and work inside a clean room environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors of Science in Biology, Chemistry or other scientific field desired.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience required.
• Pharmaceutical experience required.
• Manufacturing production and equipment operation experience required.
• 5 years of related experience desired.
• Limited/elementary vocational knowledge required. Advanced/specialist knowledge desired.
• Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity required.
• Knowledge of QA and Manufacturing systems. Must be able to keep abreast of technological advances in automation, computerization, manufacturing techniques and government regulations required.
• 20/30 Corrected Near-Point required
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted required
• Exposure to allergens required
• Working in aseptic areas required
• Repetitive activity and prolonged sitting and standing required

Shift: Weekday Days, Monday-Friday

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

• Hiring Wage: $30.99 – $41.93 hr. depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant Hollister Stier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
• This position is eligible for a shift premium of $2.00 per hour worked between 3pm and 11pm, and $2.50 per hour worked between 11pm and 7:30am.
• This position is eligible for an aseptic premium of $2.00 per hour worked in qualifying aseptic areas.
