As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct patient care in a correctional setting. You will collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans while ensuring compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards.

• Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans according to established policies and procedures.
• Conduct initial medical screenings and assessments for all incoming inmates and provide ongoing healthcare as needed throughout their incarceration.
• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and medical interventions in compliance with physician orders and healthcare protocols.
• Respond to and manage medical emergencies, including trauma and medical crises, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with facility policies and legal requirements.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, mental health professionals, and correctional officers, to provide comprehensive care to inmates.
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families (as needed), and correctional facility staff regarding treatment plans, health education, and health-related concerns.
• Provide education to inmates on health management, disease prevention, and post-care instructions.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the facility’s healthcare needs.

• A current, valid state licensure and credentials to practice RN.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional healthcare environment.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively, adhere to protocols, and deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced structured environment.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required.
