American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 6 months of neurology experience and NIHSS certification.
Details- Neurology/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Required to work every other weekend
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active WA or Compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 6 months of neurology experience required
- Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and neurological diagnoses required
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care required
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube care (Emerson/Pleur Evac) preferred
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response to dysrhythmias
- May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Scrub color is unrestricted for RNs
- No parking fees at this facility
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius may be accepted at a lower bill rate
