Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work in the NICU of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
  • Care for neonatal patients across gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks
  • Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • Variable weekend shifts required
  • Floating between units required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • 48-hour work weeks approved
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
  • Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and administration of blood products
  • Experience with UAC/UVC care, neonatal dosage calculations, and emergency medications
  • Respiratory skills including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, CPAP, and nitric oxide therapy
  • Experience managing neonatal conditions such as NEC, respiratory distress syndrome, and neonatal sepsis
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care across a range of gestational ages and acuity levels
  • Perform developmental care practices and support patient/family education
  • Manage complex respiratory, cardiovascular, and infectious disease needs in neonatal patients
  • Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
  • May be required to float to sister facilities within the region
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer
  • Scrub color for RNs is unrestricted
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • Former Providence permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No fee for parking at the facility
