American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a MS/Tele unit requiring neuro telemetry experience and WA or compact RN licensure on day shift.
Details- Work in the MS/Tele unit of a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required between units and may include sister facilities
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale
- Proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management
- Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Epic charting experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Care for post-surgical and general neurology patients in a stepdown/telemetry setting
- Any color scrubs accepted for RNs
- Holiday coverage required for Christmas, with Thanksgiving and New Year's typically covered by other staff
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
