American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown unit requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- PCU/Stepdown unit within a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with travelers floated first
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities in the area
- Epic EMR used for charting
- 48-hour work weeks approved
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Cardiac drip experience with titration and management is a hard requirement
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemakers, post cardiac cath/surgery care, and sheath removal
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting
- Provide direct patient care in a teaching hospital setting on a cardiac stepdown/PCU unit
- Candidates may choose one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be accepted at the local bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
