American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/PCU position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Stepdown/PCU unit in a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
- Patient ratios of 1:3-4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- May float between units, with travelers first to float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed
- May be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted facility
- Epic EMR used
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Teaching hospital and charge RN experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years required
- Provide stepdown/PCU level nursing care including cardiac, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal patient management
- Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration as needed
- Perform wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and insulin drip titration as needed
- Scrub color is any color for RNs
- No parking fee at this facility
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff may return after waiting at least 3 months and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem), including location and dates
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with one of Thanksgiving or Christmas as a choice
