Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details
  • PCU/Stepdown unit in a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • 48-hour work weeks approved
  • May float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed, with travelers floated first
  • Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
  • Cardiac drip titration and management experience required (hard requirement)
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Teaching hospital and charge RN experience preferred
  • Experience with respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, renal, neuro, and IV therapy skills as applicable to PCU/Stepdown care
  • 2 references covering 1 year of supervisory experience within the last 3 years required
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide cardiac telemetry and progressive care nursing to a stepdown patient population
  • Monitor and manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow oxygen, and tracheostomy care
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed
  • Manage central, peripheral, and PICC lines along with IV therapy and blood product administration
  • Respond to dysrhythmias and participate in rapid response/code team activations
  • Scrubs may be any color for RNs
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • Candidates may select one holiday off, either Thanksgiving or Christmas, not both
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
  • Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
