American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position on a heavy neuro stepdown unit requiring at least 1 year of tele experience.

• Work on a Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units and sister facilities required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system used

• Active WA or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur Evac)
• Willingness to learn neurology patient care including craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring

• Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care to a varied neurology patient population including post-surgical neuro patients
• Unit is considered heavy-neuro acuity, with willingness to learn required for those without prior neuro experience
• Facility is a teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center (adult and pediatric)
• Scrubs: any color accepted for RN
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with additional support needed specifically for Christmas
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, but cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• No parking fees at this facility
