American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Wound/Ostomy Care position requiring WOCN certification and two years of inpatient hospital experience.
Requirements- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Current BLS certification required
- WOCN certification required
- Minimum two years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting required
- Experience with a wide range of wound treatments and dressings including alginates, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, and wound vac therapy
- Experience with ostomy/colostomy/ileostomy management and care
- Experience with ulcer risk assessment tools including the Braden scale
- Experience with wound and ulcer assessment and staging, including pressure, venous, arterial, and neuropathic ulcers
- Experience with infection control and isolation precautions/PPE
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Work in the Wound Care unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratios of 1:8-10
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- No floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No weekend requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
- Provide comprehensive wound and ostomy care including dressing changes, debridement, and wound vac therapy
- Perform patient and family teaching related to wound and ostomy care
- Conduct skin integrity risk assessments and manage related risk factors
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered for the local rate
- Returning former staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Must provide a response regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem)
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
