Base pay range$18.13/hr - $20.00/hr
Responsibilities- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
- Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
- Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, following state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
- Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommend items for sale, trade‑ups, and companion items.
- Record customer purchases on assigned register, collect cash and distribute change, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges.
- Maintain counters and shelves clean and merchandised, take inventory, and keep records. Perform tasks as directed by store manager or shift leader such as checking in, pricing, and merchandising.
- Enter patient and drug information accurately in pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, verify medicine, and check interactions.
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
- Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during applicable prescription dispensing activities.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
- Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services in a timely manner and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
- Support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
- Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
- Assist with separation of food items and product placement as per policies, rotating consumables using first‑in, first‑out method.
- Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport, poster print, creative machine, and suggestive selling of promotional photo products.
- Assume web pick‑up responsibilities, monitor orders, pick items, and deliver orders to customers on arrival.
- Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean and orderly store condition and appearance.
- Maintain respectful relationships with coworkers and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
- Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
- Attend training, complete required PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to keep knowledge and skills up to date in healthcare and pharmacy.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Prefer 6 months of experience in a retail environment.
- Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
- Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Prefer good computer skills.
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
- Prefer PTCB certification.
