Job Description & How to Apply Below
The Role
What if your years of biology training could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex problems in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics? We're looking for biology experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and refine cutting-edge AI models by designing and solving advanced scientific problems that push the boundaries of what AI can understand.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for scientists who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience needed — just deep domain expertise and a passion for rigorous science.
- Organization:
Alignerr - Type:
Hourly Contract - Location:
Remote - Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
- Develop, solve, and critically review advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance
- Apply your expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design challenging, nuanced problem statements
- Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning and outputs for accuracy, depth, and rigor
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to enhance model performance
- Ensure scientific clarity, precision, and depth across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
- Hold a Master's or PhD in Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field
- Deeply knowledgeable in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics
- Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or analytical purposes
- Exceptionally clear and precise in written communication — you can explain complex science without losing the detail
- Detail-oriented and methodical — you hold your work to a high standard
- Fluent in English
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality review, or evaluation systems
- Familiarity with AI tools, language models, or scientific benchmarking
- Background spanning multiple biology sub-disciplines
- Experience writing for scientific publication, grant applications, or technical documentation
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
- Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work
- Put your expertise to use in a way that shapes how AI understands biology at a fundamental level
- Contribute to technology that will influence scientific research and discovery for years to come
- Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
