Summary of Position

Prepare bakery items according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Help maintain food costs and keep the kitchen clean at all times. Perform duties to maximize guest satisfaction and create a positive work environment, as directed by the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Position Activities and Tasks

Baking: Prepare bakery items per Perkins standards, label and date all trays, observe proper food storage, and ensure high food safety standards.

Display: Set up and maintain display cases, use proper merchandising techniques, and assist with samples, holiday packaging, and merchandising with front staff.

Cleaning: Follow sanitation procedures, keep prep and storage areas clean and organized, sanitize bakery equipment, and control food costs.

Food Preparation: Portion products accurately, follow recipes, and utilize FIFO standards.

Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the kitchen, prep areas, coolers, and storage areas clean and sanitized.

Safety and Compliance: Follow safety policies, understand OSHA and health department standards, and conduct line sweeps.

Equipment Maintenance: Clean all bakery equipment and utensils as directed.

Guest Service & Communication: Communicate with team members about product, safety, and equipment issues, and assist front-of-house staff as needed.

Assisting Team Members: Help with prepping items, dishwashing, and maintaining bakery case cleanliness.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Stand and walk extensively for up to 8 hours.
Ability to see at various distances, communicate clearly, and work in heat, steam, and cold environments.
Reach heights of 6 feet, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle chemicals safely.
Work irregular hours during busy times with time management skills.

Supervision & Skills

Receive guidance from the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty. Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service are taught in-house. No prior experience required.

Additional Information

This position description is not exhaustive; duties may vary. Compensation ranges from $15.47 to $18.00 per hour.
