Position Overview

The Greeter is the Guest’s first impression of the restaurant; therefore, professionalism, a friendly and welcoming demeanor, and an efficient manner is critical in determining whether the Guest will become a loyal customer. The Greeter orchestrates the flow of seating and thereby greatly influences the sales volume of the restaurant.

Responsibilities
  • Upholds company mission and philosophy.
  • Greets Guests promptly and seats Guests efficiently in accordance with the standards and procedures in the Greeter Workbook.
  • Answers the telephone and directs calls in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Promotes sales. Has a thorough understanding of the restaurant’s products.
  • Maintains wait list effectively to ensure Guests are taken care of in an efficient and accurate manner. Seats Guests within timing standards.
  • Performs setup and side-work duties in an efficient and accurate manner. Helps to maintain cleanliness of restaurant.
  • Works as a member of the team to serve Guests. Maintains positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward Guests and coworkers. Assists others whenever able, including bussing and resetting tables.
  • Maintains highest standards of hygiene and sanitation. Follows Health Department standards for hygiene and safe food handling. Maintains current Food Handlers Permit.
  • Works toward ensuring profitability by controlling waste, promoting sales, and ensuring all items ordered are rung in.

  • Excellent physical coordination.

  • Courteous and Guest First attitude. Team player.
  • Organized. Leadership ability (Coordinator position): initiative and sound decision making.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Flexible schedule, when necessary.
  • Personal cleanliness.
  • Good verbal communication. Must be able to speak, read, and understand English. Must be able to complete simple mathematical calculations and handle money.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Able to move throughout all areas of the restaurant.
    • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
    • Stamina; able to stand for long periods.
