Position Summary

The Gourmandie is a specialty food and wine market located in Schweitzer's Village. The Clerk is responsible for both guest facing and back of house food prep. This position is for returning staff only.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities

• Welcome customers, offering exceptional guest service.
• Take customer food & drink orders with the ability to recommend products from the menu as well as the beverage selections.
• Create and produce outstanding food and unique deli items.
• Stock, rotate and merchandise market items.
• Assisting with the tidying of tables and keeping the outlet areas clean and organized.
• Ensuring kitchen and service utensils are properly prepared and / or cleaned at opening and closing to comply with health regulations.
• Work schedule will include weekends and holidays.

Specific

Job Skills

• License/Certifications - Safe Serve certification preferred and Idaho Beverage Seller training preferred
• Technical - Point of Sale computer system familiarity, Cash handling skills
• Physical Capabilities - Able to walk/stand for a full shift (potentially for up to 10 hours), lift up to 50 lbs.
• Additional - comfortable around sharp kitchen equipment

Education/Related Experience

Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication. High School or GED preferred

Minimum time in related position - 6 months in food retail preferred
