Upwell Ventures is a Management Services Organization (MSO) that partners with high-performing private medical practices to help them thrive.

We provide strategic and operational support, ranging from medical billing to patient acquisition, to empower clinicians to focus on what matters most: delivering holistic, life-changing care. By aligning business excellence with clinical integrity, we help practices reach their full potential and expand their impact. We’re proudly startup-coded: scrappy, fast-moving, and solution-obsessed. No two days look the same, and we prefer it that way.

Who you are:

You're the kind of person who actually enjoys picking up the phone. You know how to turn a cold call into a warm conversation. Walking into a room full of strangers doesn’t scare you, in fact, you see it as an opportunity. Whether it’s a home health agency or a busy clinic, you know how to show up, connect, and make a lasting impression.

You're equal parts outgoing and organized: people trust you because you follow through. Behind your friendly smile is a color-coded calendar, a well-managed CRM, and a knack for turning chaos into a clean pipeline. You’re a problem-solver who doesn’t shy away from obstacles and instead, you find creative ways around them.

You love travel (especially when your job pays you to do it). You like driving with a purpose, popping into clinics with coffee and a great pitch, and hosting events that people actually want to attend. You can think fast, act professionally, and still keep things light and fun along the way. Most importantly, you care deeply about the work, making sure people who need expert care actually get it, and supporting the clinical teams who deliver it.

This role: Business Development Specialists

You'll be supporting our clients (medical professionals) in acquiring patients for their in-home wound care businesses through referral partner development. Lucky for you, you don't have to convince anyone to buy anything. You are pitching a partnership. Your job is to effectively educate referral partners (home health agencies, for example) on our service & process. Then, follow through by ensuring they have a great experience working with us.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage a consistent pipeline of wound care referral partners to support patient growth goals.
  • Work closely with the administration team to ensure timely response to referral and to troubleshoot barriers to care initiation.

Referral Relationship Management -

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with a range of wound care referral sources, including physicians, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and clinics.
  • Act as the primary liaison between referring providers and the wound care team to ensure exceptional communication, problem resolution, and alignment.

Outreach and Territory Coverage - Travel out-of-state & conduct in-person visits with referral partners across markets like:

  • Chicago, IL
  • New York City, NY
  • Grand Rapids, MI

CRM and Data Management -

  • Maintain accurate records of all referral contacts, activities, and outcomes using Hub Spot CRM.
  • Analyze outreach data to optimize account management strategies and identify areas for improvement.

Event and Engagement Planning -

  • Plan and lead engaging, educational in-service sessions with referral partners to enhance their understanding of our client’s clinical expertise and care model.
  • Organize high-touch events such as leadership dinners and clinical round tables, ensuring personalized interaction with medical directors and wound care providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or a compelling story about how you got where you are without one (we’re open-minded)
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management (healthcare experience is a bonus, but not required)
  • You’re a clear, confident communicator, both in writing and in person.
  • Bonus points if you're tech-savvy and comfortable with tools like Hub Spot CRM, Excel, etc.
  • Email  your resume with the subject "Upwell BD Application"

Compensation: Salary ($70,000+ annually DOE) + Commission + Annual…
