Position: Facilities Maintenance Tech I.II

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician I/II performs routine facility and equipment maintenance, monitors and operates HVAC systems, and is responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other installed systems including fire and security alarms. The role includes day‑to‑day coordination of building maintenance (reactive and preventive).

Responsibilities
  • Repair, install, replace, and service various types of facility equipment and systems under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Maintain process water, equipment, electrical distribution, compressed air systems and boilers, including preventative maintenance tasks and operational data.
  • Assist in maintaining WFI water treatment, storage and distribution system.
  • Perform routine checks and inspections to ensure all systems function properly.
  • Evaluate equipment breakdown and conduct mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Order and maintain replacement and spare parts for the facility and equipment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of GMP, SOP and FDA requirements.
  • Perform snow removal as required.
  • Document facility maintenance requirements; create and maintain records in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of resources.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and operations to resolve issues and concerns.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to work nights and weekends required.
  • City of Spokane third‑class boiler operator’s license desired.
  • Spokane Gas Heating Mechanic’s 1 license desired.
  • EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling license desired.
  • WA L&I Electrical Trainee license desired.
  • 0‑3 years’ experience directly related to duties in a plant or similar environment (preferably pharmaceutical). Completed degrees may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Knowledge of one or more building trades desired.
  • Skill in using computers, preferably PC/Windows‑based environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Ability to repair and maintain appliances and heating and cooling equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Attention to detail; work is accurate and meets all standards and requirements.
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting over 50 lbs required.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions.
Maintenance Technician II Requirements

In addition to the above, 3‑5 years of experience directly related to duties in a plant or similar environment (preferably pharmaceutical).

Shift

Weekday days, Monday‑Friday.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Maintenance Technician I: $25.11‑$33.96 per hour.
  • Maintenance Technician II: $27.90‑$37.73 per hour depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises.
