Position:
Commercial Startup Service Technician

Location:

Spokane, WA

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed)

Compensation: $38 – $40/hr (DOE)

Position

Summary

As a Commercial Startup Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive top‑notch service and support. You will be responsible for the installation, startup, and troubleshooting of various HVAC systems, including split systems, rooftop units, energy recovery ventilators, exhaust fans, ductless split systems, and VRF systems. Your expertise will also extend to the installation and programming of manufacturer controls for VRF and energy recovery systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform system startups and troubleshoot issues with HVAC equipment.
  • Install and program controls for VRF and energy recovery systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and control system failures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes for residential and light commercial projects.
  • Maintain exceptional safety standards when using tools and testing devices.
Desired Licenses & Certifications
  • 06A Electrical License
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Gas Mechanics 1 Certification
  • CPR Certification (preferred)
  • Man‑Lift and Grade‑All Certification (preferred)
  • Fall Protection Certification (preferred)
  • Idaho Journeyman’s Card (preferred)
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Proficiency in Carrier, Mitsubishi, and Samsung VRF system controls, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of refrigerant, gas, and electric furnaces, heat pumps, and commercial system installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to wire, configure, and troubleshoot economizer Jade controllers and 0 – 10‑volt DC motorized dampers.
  • Expertise in diagnosing mechanical equipment issues, including sensor failures and calibration.
  • General knowledge of HVAC low voltage systems.
  • Exceptional safety knowledge and practices related to tools and surroundings.
