Job Summary
Service, repair, replace and install garage doors and other related garage door components to include sections, openers, springs, glass, cables, track, etc.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstall, service and repair garage doors and openers, including springs, tracks, panels, hardware and other components in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
Diagnose problems quickly and accurately and provide customers with realistic expectations for repairs.
Perform regular maintenance on garage doors and openers to prevent common issues and extend the lifespan of the products.
Review work order/invoice for accuracy and completeness before departing the job; ensure payment is collected at the time of job completion.
Assist in unloading of trucks when requested/assigned.
Keep a clean and organized work area and maintain a well-stocked truck with all necessary tools and parts.
Stay up-to-date on new products and developments in the industry and share this knowledge with customers as appropriate.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and use proper personal protective equipment when necessary.
Attend required training safety meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities as available.
Ensure the truck is fueled, serviced and ready for operation prior to the beginning of the work day. Report any service issues to your supervisor.
Assist with special projects and/or additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Educational Experience- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic construction knowledge, a plus.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that allows for coverage under the company insurance plan.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug testing as required/requested.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand and work with common power tools.
- Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers.
- Must be energetic, a team player, and willing to help others when needed.
- Able to work from ladders and/or scissor lifts at varying heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds.
- Perform manual labor in an outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, rain and other adverse weather conditions.
