Driving is a required part of this job in order to perform the duties of this position as an L&I investigator to get from one location to another. There will be frequent daily travel with occasional overnight travel throughout the State. Therefore, you must have a valid unrestricted driver license without any convictions for driving under the influence or a driving offense that endangered or harmed others within the past 7 years.

When a state‑issued vehicle or motor pool is not available, you must be able to provide a personally owned vehicle (POV) and will be reimbursed at the current mileage reimbursement rate.

To perform this job, you must be physically capable to walk through a variety of workplaces such as large manufacturing plants with metal stairways, catwalks, ladders, and walk through rough terrain. Must also be able to be exposed to weather (wearing appropriate weather gear) for long durations.

For this position, telework is permitted on occasion dependent upon business needs and supervisor approval. The assigned duty station for this position can be any Region 5 L&I Office:

E. Wenatchee, Union Gap, or Kennewick, WA and may occasionally travel statewide.

WISHA 10 for Agriculture Program Development & Training
  • Create and present WISHA 10‑hour training modules for Agriculture and Construction.
  • Lead training sessions utilizing hands‑on demonstrations, small‑group discussions, and scenario‑based exercises.
  • Audit training courses to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Maintain training databases.
Bilingual Education & Outreach
  • Design and deliver occupational safety and health trainings for both internal staff and external stakeholders.
  • Translate and develop training materials, videos, and online modules in English and Spanish.
  • Represent DOSH at community events, safety fairs, radio programs, and multicultural outreach efforts.
  • Serve as a Spanish‑language liaison across agency programs and public‑facing events.
Content Creation & Technical Support
  • Research and develop new materials based on current regulations (OSHA, WACs, RCWs, ANSI, NIOSH, etc.).
  • Utilize multimedia tools like PowerPoint, Storyline, and video editing to enhance training delivery.
  • Support website updates with bilingual technical content.
