Responsible for leading and teaching specialized water aerobics instruction to patrons of all fitness levels at the City of Spokane outdoor pools. Employee will plan, coordinate, and teach all aspects of classes offered. Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills are essential to this position. Classes are offered at various work locations such as Shadle, Hillyard, and Witter aquatic centers. Reports to Facility Managers;
Aquatic Supervisory Staff.

The following Responsibilities and Requirements are functions the individual who holds or desires the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation.

• Lead and teach specialized water aerobics instruction to patrons of all fitness levels.
• Plan, coordinate, and teach all aspects of classes offered.
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
• Ability to instruct patrons on effective workout methods; explain proper techniques, demonstrate exercises; identify different muscle groups, and teach appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
• Thorough knowledge and application of teaching styles in coordination with certified organization standards.

• Must be at least 16 years of age at time of appointment.
• Possess a valid government issued  Social Security Card.
• Required to submit to background check.
• Availability to work early morning, evening, or weekend shifts.
• Water Aerobics Instruction certification preferred.

• Thorough knowledge and application of teaching styles in coordination with certified organization standards.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
