ALL ABOUT ON DEMAND:
You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those looking for a flexible, personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but you can create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members via the myTime mobile scheduling app.

Reliable attendance is necessary. You are expected to pick up and work shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). If you do not respond to our contact attempts or fail to work at least one shift within 5 months, employment may be terminated. You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term training schedule before starting.

After training, use the myTime app to pick shifts.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT:
Guest Advocates welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment, store cleanliness, and knowledge of both in-store and digital services. You will assist guests with checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive-up, while ensuring quality. You will be knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage, and guest loyalty.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard and greeting guests as you complete tasks
  • Assist and engage with guests to solve their needs and improve their experience
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the store and area to resolve issues
  • Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and in compliance with food safety standards
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • Explain Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment; direct guests to enrollment and use of fulfillment services
  • Demonstrate how to use Wallet and other Target App features
  • Handle returns by following register prompts and escalate to leaders as needed
  • De-escalate situations with leaders as needed to recover the guest experience
  • Provide easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • Maintain a clean, clutter-free work area and stock supplies during store hours
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and report hazards
  • Support guest services such as OPU, Drive-up orders and returns, while complying with applicable laws
  • Assist with Cash Office processes as needed
  • All other duties based on business needs
