Smith & Co CPA is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing team in Franklin, TN and Spring Hill, TN. Our CPA firm offers comprehensive tax compliance and planning services. Additionally, our firm supports various consulting and support roles for Smith & Co Advisory (a registered investment advisory firm). Our clients benefit from the coordinated efforts of tax and wealth management services.

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and entities
• Conduct tax research and stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to clients
• Assist with tax projections, estimates, and year-end planning
• Communicate directly with clients to gather financial data and resolve tax-related questions
• Maintain accurate and organized client records and work papers
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate filing deadlines are met
• Oversee tax support personnel to ensure work completion and accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting,
• 5+ years of experience in tax accounting (preferred but 3 years experience will be considered),
• CPA license or active CPA candidate required,
• Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., Ultra Tax or similar)
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes and compliance requirements
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset
