Position SummaryThe Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and lunch menu items, supporting bakery prep when needed, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring every plate meets our quality standards. This role requires strong time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during busy service times.
Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking- Prepare and cook breakfast items (eggs, pancakes, skillets, sandwiches, etc.)
- Prepare and cook lunch items (soups, salads, sandwiches, hot plates, etc.)
- Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards
- Ensure all dishes are prepared promptly and accurately
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout service
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items
- Assist with daily prep tasks (chopping, portioning, baking prep, etc.)
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly
- Follow all health and safety guidelines
- Ensure proper cooking temperatures and food handling
- Keep up with cleaning schedules and sanitation standards
- Obtain and maintain Food Handler’s Certification (required)
- Communicate effectively with bakery staff, baristas, and management
- Assist in bakery prep or café operations as needed
- Support a positive, respectful work environment
- Previous experience cooking in a restaurant, café, or commercial kitchen
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent quality
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle busy rushes
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler’s Certification
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for long periods
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented attitude
- Experience in breakfast and/or short-order cooking
- Experience in bakery or café environments
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and Serv Safe practices
