You will welcome customers to Lowe’s and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, help them find and select products, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome customers and deliver friendly, professional customer service.
- Assist customers in locating and handling merchandise.
- Down‑stock merchandise by looking for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately.
- Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store.
- Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying or outputting information).
- 6 months experience using common retail technology (smartphones, tablets).
- Reading, writing and basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).
- Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities.
- Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without accommodation.
- 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bi‑lingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
This role does not require regular travel; however, it may need occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.
Working ConditionsEnvironmental factors vary by location. You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions. Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible. You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary based on role, weight, and volume. Associates must follow guidelines limiting single lifts to 75 pounds and using team lifts when needed.
Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
