Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides emergency medical care to sick or injured persons, ensuring proper treatment and arranging for transport to a medical facility when necessary. The EMT evaluates the nature and extent of the illness or injury and determines the appropriate course of medical action, based on the victim’s statements, physical examination, and adherence to established emergency medical procedures.

• Administer medical treatment at the scene of an emergency, including applying splints, providing CPR, administering oxygen, treating minor wounds, and offering patient status updates to receiving medical personnel.
• Document and report all medical incidents as directed by the site Emergency Response Plan.
• Ensure the safety and security of the General Motors facility by controlling access, screening visitors and employees, and monitoring entrances, exits, and parking.
• Conduct foot or vehicle patrols, inspect high‑risk areas, fire safety equipment, and ensure the accessibility of emergency exits.
• Secure the scene of incidents or emergencies to preserve evidence, set up barriers and signage, and provide information or direction to others as needed.
