Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Conduct design analysis (e.g., FEA) to ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Prototype, test, and validate new designs, implementing necessary modifications and improvements.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on design requirements and cost targets.
- Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA).
- In-depth knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, material science, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Proven ability to perform engineering calculations and basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for design validation.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
- Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Hands‑on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or assembly techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
