Position OverviewThe Facilities Engineer provides engineering and technical expertise to support Arena Offshore’s assets, including maintenance, optimization, and capital projects for offshore production facilities. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, Arena Offshore’s safety and quality standards, and project management objectives while driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Asset Maintenance and Optimization
- Oversee repair and maintenance of production equipment, utility systems, and support infrastructure on offshore assets.
- Evaluate facility infrastructure to identify and implement operational efficiency improvements.
- Capital Project Execution
- Lead engineering design and execution for capital projects, from restorations to new builds.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs), and project schedules.
- Conduct site surveys and collect data to establish precise design bases.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., 30
CFR 250, API RP14C) and Arena Offshore’s safety, quality, and technical standards. - Support contractor health, environmental, and safety (HES) management to meet company objectives.
- Define and implement process safety standards to reduce incident risks.
- Lead facility hazard analyses and ensure action item closeout.

- Project Management
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize construction scopes and allocate resources effectively.
- Support business planning and work schedules to align projects with company goals.
- Maintain accurate compliance documentation, including P&IDs, Safety Flow Diagrams, Equipment Layouts, and SAFE Charts.
- Technical Oversight
- Supervise offshore construction activities, ensuring alignment with project performance requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors during project execution.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in offshore production facilities, or equivalent experience in upstream oil and gas operations with transferable skills.
- Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in construction, installation, and/or commissioning in the upstream sector.
- Strong knowledge of facilities engineering design and construction for offshore structures, topsides equipment, utilities, and injection systems.
- Familiarity with 30
CFR 250, API RP14C, and other industry standards and codes. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering/project management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera).
- Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize a diverse workload and meet deadlines.
- Communication and Leadership
- Excellent communication skills for leading project meetings, collaborating with cross‑functional teams (e.g., HSE, Regulatory, Production), and engaging with clients.
- Ability to solve problems proactively and handle ethical situations with integrity.
- Adaptability
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including monitoring offshore operations on weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to continuous self‑development and recognizing personal strengths and weaknesses.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent from a recognized licensing board is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, safety certifications) are a plus.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use arms/hands for repetitive tasks, with occasional standing and walking.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate offshore oil rigs (e.g., stairs, ladders).
- Willingness to travel without limitation via airplanes, helicopters, and boats, including swing ropes and personnel baskets.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and hazardous atmospheres, with appropriate safety training and equipment provided.
