Position Summary
The Sr. Project Engineer will provide conceptual, preliminary, and final gas pipeline and facility designs.
Responsibilities- Coordination and QA/QC of engineering deliverables.
- Responsibility for coordination of all technical activities on assigned engineering projects and proposals including, but not limited to, pipelines, compression, metering, valve stations, regulating stations, and storage facilities.
- Selection and sizing of gas pipeline valves, meters, vessels/tanks, filter/separators, fuel gas skids, pig launchers/receivers, and odorizers.
- Provide engineering review in the preparation of design deliverables and vendor drawings for compliance with project requirements, applicable standards, and accepted engineering practices.
- Prepare engineering and equipment request for proposals, including engineering data and specifications. Conduct pre-bid meetings, develop bid tabulations, and make recommendations.
- Coordinate and manage small projects or portions of larger projects under the guidance of or review by the project manager.
- Conduct inspections of potential job sites to develop an understanding of actual field conditions and the possible effect they may have on system design.
- Working knowledge of basic corrosion principles and mitigation.
- Working knowledge of facility layouts and pipeline operations.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, regulations and standards related to gas pipeline facility design including CFR 192 and ASME B31.8.
- Mentor and train fellow engineers and employees.
- At least ten years of experience in pipeline design working with various engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- Professional Engineering license is preferred.
- An ability to effectively solve problems within a specific time frame.
- Ability to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules. Experience in Synergi Pipeline Simulator is a plus.
- AutoCAD experience required.
- MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.
- Physically fit – sufficient mobility for construction sites including the ability to access platforms and other structures.
- Must be able to travel to assigned areas to meet job requirements and be able to work outside traditional work hours when required.
- Travel required:
