About Houston

Exxon Mobil's state‑of‑the‑art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
  • Support efforts to improve product performance through various testing and evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to developing solutions that align with customer requirements and industry expectations.
  • Prepare and blend samples according to project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Support the setup and execution of experiments to evaluate fluid properties.
  • Utilize available tools and systems to ensure efficient workflows.
  • Perform measurements of relevant physical and chemical characteristics.
  • Analyze experimental data and summarize findings for project teams.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to support development activities.
  • Prepare documentation and share results with stakeholders as needed.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and procedures meet quality standards.
About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Hands‑on experience with lubricant formulation and testing such as foams, emulsion, viscosity, thermal, HFRR, MTM, and EHL.
  • Familiarity with high‑throughput experimentation techniques and automated systems.
  • Knowledge of various research principles and testing methods.
  • Familiarity with ASTM and ISO Standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Experience with statistical design of experiments (DOE).

Knowledge of industry standards for lubricants and tribology testing.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment.
