AboutThis Role
The Estimator is responsible for the overall planning and coordinating efforts to produce comprehensive project cost estimates. The Project Estimator will determine contractor and labor needs, calculate job profitability, prepare and submit bids, and maintain cost databases. This onsite position will be in Overland Park, KS or Houston, TX.
What You’ll Do- Create spreadsheets to track important customer information and estimates
- Transfer data from hard copy to a digital database
- Update customer information in a database
- Organize existing data in a spreadsheet
- Verify outdated data and make any necessary changes to records
- Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
- Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data strategies
- Prepare final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data‑analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends
- Work with procurement, scheduling, and project development teams to coordinate local bidding efforts
- Perform any other duties assigned
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Complete special projects as requested
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Science/Management, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent field; equivalent work experience, or combination of work and education, may be substituted
- 5+ years of project controls experience with multi‑year design and construction projects
- Self‑starter with the ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team
- Strong problem evaluation/solving skills
- Understanding of the project design process for projects
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with other team members
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
